Who operates Sap
Sap: Plant & Garden Planner is operated by Christian Looff in the United States. Privacy and support questions can be sent to looffllc@gmail.com.
Information Sap collects
- Account information provided by Apple or Google, such as your name, email address, provider, and user ID.
- Your plant ratings, lists, saved Spaces, block placements, filters, onboarding state, and garden preferences.
- An optional U.S. ZIP code and the estimated USDA hardiness zone you review or choose for location-aware planning.
- Photos you select for private Space Visualization and the generated previews and reports returned to you.
- Garden Plan, shopping, and visualization requests, structured plant context, and generated guidance.
- Subscription product, status, renewal period, and AI allowance usage. Sap does not receive your payment-card details.
- Limited crash, performance, device, app-version, and feature-interaction diagnostics used to keep Sap reliable.
How Sap uses information
Sap uses this information to authenticate you, save your garden work, personalize plant results, enforce plan access and allowances, create requested guidance and previews, provide support, prevent abuse, and diagnose failures. Sap does not sell personal information and does not use it for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
ZIP code and hardiness-zone guidance
When you ask Sap to find your zone, Sap checks a bundled copy of the 2023 USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map ZIP Code Listings published by USDA Agricultural Research Service and the Oregon State University PRISM Climate Group. Sap keeps the source half-zone and derives the whole-number zone used by Discover and Plan. You can review or replace that estimate at any time. The ZIP lookup does not use OpenAI, does not request precise location, and does not guarantee that a plant will thrive in a particular place.
Photos and generated content
A Space photo is uploaded only after you start a private visualization. Sap sends the requested photo and relevant plant and Plan context through trusted server workflows to create the result. Source photos are temporary by default and are deleted after generation or a failed attempt. Generated visualizations remain private to your account until you delete them, delete your account, or choose to save a copy to your device.
Service providers
Sap uses service providers only to operate requested product functions:
- Supabase for authentication, database records, private storage, and server functions.
- RevenueCat and Apple for subscriptions, purchase status, restoration, and billing management.
- Google and Apple for OAuth sign-in.
- Perenual for plant catalog facts. Sap does not send your account, photos, or saved garden data to Perenual. Source-image records used during catalog quality review remain private and are not shown in customer surfaces.
- OpenAI for requested planning, shopping, image generation, and image-analysis features.
- Trigger.dev for background workflow execution.
- Sentry for privacy-limited crash and performance diagnostics.
- Vercel for this public support and policy website.
Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. Temporary source photos are deleted as described above. Generated previews, saved plans, and Spaces remain until you delete them or your account. When you delete an individual Plan, its hidden recovery metadata may remain for up to 30 days before permanent removal. When you delete a visualization, its private image file is removed immediately after deletion succeeds. Hidden Plan and visualization recovery metadata becomes eligible for permanent removal after the 30-day recovery period. Operational logs and diagnostics are kept for limited periods based on security, reliability, legal, and service-provider settings. After account deletion, Sap may retain server-side billing-window and cost totals under a one-way store-subscription hash so recreating an account cannot reset an active subscription's AI allowance. Those retained rows exclude the deleted Sap user ID, prompts, photos, source record references, provider request IDs, and raw provider usage. Apple and other payment providers may retain transaction records under their own legal obligations.
Your choices

Sap is a general-audience garden planning app and is not directed to children under 13. A child should use Sap only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.
